Over the course of a 6 week hands on program, students will be educated on the history of music while having a clear understanding of music theory. This course is designed to help build self esteem with focus on performance arts.

SB 100 COURSE SERIES – DJ CURRICULUM

SB 101 – Learn To DJ

SB 101 is your super fun introduction into the world of DJing. This course explores the history of DJ technology and gives an exciting and unique experience.  At the end of this course you will perform a set with your classmates to your friends and family. 

Day 1 - Introduction – Operating The DJ Equipment

Day 2 - Music Foundations – Phrasing & Looping

Day 3 – Mixing Music – Blending & Filtering

Day 4 - Create A Performance – Set Building & Performance Skills

Day 5 – Practice & Perfect Performance – One on One Time

SB 102 – DJing With Style

SB 102 is a super exciting performance-based course. This course explores three of the most respected and popular skills in DJing… Beat Matching, Scratching & Finger Drumming.  At the end of this course you will perform a live set using these new skills for your friends and family.

Day 2 – Scratching

Day 3 – Finger Drumming

Day 4 - Create A Performance – Set Building and Performance Skills

Day 5 – Practice & Perfect Performance – One on One Time

SB 103 – Advanced DJing With Style & Flair

SB 103 is an awesome advanced performance skills course. This explores the advanced skills of Scratching & Finger Drumming.  At the end of this course you will perform a live set using these new skills for your friends and family. 

Day 1 – Scratching – Beat Juggling

Day 2 – Scratching – Cut & Scratch

Day 3 – Finger Drumming – Sampling

Day 4 - Finger Drumming – Rhythm Creation

Day 5 - Create A Performance – Set Building and Performance Skills

SB 200 SERIES – MUSIC PRODUCTION CURRICULUM

SB 201 – Learn To Perform EDM Mashup Live  “Traktor Signature Performance Class”

The “Traktor Signature Performance Class” gets the student up and running with the Native Instrument Traktor Software and specifically focuses on the Remix Decks and the F1 Controller. After we teach you the basics we let the student remix his or her favorite song and perform it live to the class, family and friends on the last day of the course.  Phrasing, Timing, Harmonics, Song Structure and Sampling will be introduced to student.   Spark your creativity using the part and pieces of the music you love the most.

SB 202 – Learn Music Production   “Mixed In Key – Mashup 2.0 Signature Production Class”

The “Mashup 2.0 Signature Production Class” gets the student up and running with the Mixed In Key – Mashup 2.0 Software and specifically focuses combining songs in a music production environment. After we teach you the basics we let the student produce a professional quality EDM mashup track and perform it in a live dj set to the class, family and friends on the last day of the course.  Phrasing, Gain Structure, Harmonics, Song Structure and Effects will be introduced to student.   Spark your creativity by merging the music you love the most.

SB 203 – Learn To Make Electronic Dance Music  “Ableton Live 9 Signature Remix Class”

The “Ableton Signature Remix Class” gets the performer up and running with the software. After we teach you the basics we let the student remix his or her favorite song.  Skills such as  Warping, Mapping, Routing, and the session and arrangement view will be introduced to student.   We will create some original sounds from scratch and learn how to build a song! Spark your creativity remixing the music you love the most.  

Courses are separated into two age groups, 8-12 & 13-17. As a final, students will perform live in front of their peers by mixing down a 30 minute DJ set of their choice! This program has given many kids the opportunity to DJ their own birthday parties and school dances!

Reservations & Payments

We accept cash and credit card payments via Visa, Master Card and Discover online or by phone.  Payment must be received in order to reserve your spot for any course/class/workshop.

Payment Plans

You may pay for your course by putting a deposit of 1/2 down in order to reserve your spot (this is non-refundable but may be transferred to another course if at least a weeks notice is given).  The second 1/2 is due by/on the first day of the course.
